Volunteering with Snow-Camp is a great way to get more involved with both our work and with the voluntary sector in general. Snow-Camp has an increasing number of volunteers who come from diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of skills and experience to our organisation.

There are a range of ways people have been able to help out over the years and a lot depends on your skills and experience and what you would like to do! The most tricky side of volunteering these days is working directly with the young people. Even aside from all the CRB and paperwork organisations needs to go through to ensure the safety of young people, as a rule we try to use the young people we have trained to Snowsport England Level 1 as volunteers and sessional staff to give them some more experience on the slopes.

We do however continually need the support from volunteers to help develop Snow-Camp in areas such as fundraising, event organising, PR, press, marketing and general administration. We are continually seeking to expand the activities and roles that volunteers can become involved in. If you have other skills and experience you feel may be useful, please do get in contact, we would love to hear any ideas you may have.

I really enjoyed working one on one with the young people in the ski groups and saw progression with them which was exciting for all of us. The young people left feeling that they had achieved something . It became evident that the volunteers who were there to help in the lessons were pretty essential
