We’re looking for a new Sussex Apprentice!

Snow-Camp have identified the need to work with inner-city young people in Sussex, but due to a lack of accessibility of local indoor/artificial ski and snowboarding centres, we have developed a unique Business Administration Apprenticeship Programme specifically for the area.

After successfully launching our Sussex Apprenticeship Programme in January 2017, we are now looking to employ our next business administration apprentice in January 2018. The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week Monday to Thursday in our head office close to Portslade Station in East Sussex and will be paid the National Apprenticeship wage salary.

If successful, you will gain valuable work experience in our head office while working towards and NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration through our training provider YMCA. Our Sussex Apprenticeship Programme is designed to give apprentices a broad experience and solid foundation to support a career in a professional office environment but this role is so much more than just business administration! You will be expected to support each area of the Snow-Camp team from programmes and fundraising to events and marketing.

Perks of the job:

You will have the opportunity to learn how to ski or snowboard at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead with our London team.

Key duties:

  • Manage all administrative activities including managing office supplies (maintaining levels and ordering), filing, photocopying, scanning, posting etc.
  • Set up internal meetings
  • Support programmes team by making up programme packs and inputting data needed to evaluate the impact of our work
  • Act as first point of contact for customer inquiries on the phone and via email.

The successful candidate:

  • Occasionally you may have to work a weekend or change your hours so that you start earlier or finish later, depending on what support the team need. So flexibility is definitely an advantage
  • Willingness to learn
  • Brighton and Hove based, ideally
  • Comfortable talking on the phone with a professional phone manner, full training will be given
  • Is someone who works well as part of a team
  • Ideally has maths and English GCSEs, grades A – C
