The City Ski Championships are finally returning to their birthplace, the mythical Italian resort of Courmayeur Mont Blanc from January 31st – February 3rd. After 7 years in Switzerland, it is time to say goodbye to the Swiss Franc and return to a resort where prices haven’t changed all that much in the last 20 years! In partnership with the Financial Times for the 8th year running, City Ski Championships will deliver a packed and varied programme of high quality skiing, racing, meals, drinks and entertainment, in truly charming and historic surroundings. It is a fantastic event in the snowsports calendar and we are very much looking forward to being involved once again.
The Team Distance Challenge first came to the City Ski Championships schedule in 2018, and was such a success we are doing it again! We are encouraging event attendees to enter teams of 4 and get involved! Each team will receive a top of the range GPS tracker and will be tasked with completing the most kms as possible over 90 minute period. You can take any route you like starting from the paddock, and use any strategy to maximize distance – as long as you are on foot, skis or lifts and always together as a team!
Register your team today here.
Trophies, medals and glory will await the top 3 teams, and, as this event is for charity, teams will be asked to donate 10 euros for each km skied on the challenge, with your donations supporting our work with young people. Thank you for your support!
The partnership between Snow-Camp and the Momentum Ski, who host the City Ski Championships, provides a wonderful opportunity for us to further raise the profile of our innovative work, find new supporters and create new opportunities for the young people we support. The fit with the event makes Snow-Camp the ideal charity partner for the Championships, and we are looking forward to joining the team out in Courmayeur!
Founder and Director of Momentum Ski, Amin Momen, said: “We have been aware of Snow-Camp’s work for many years and have been impressed by the continued growth of the charity and the impact of their work. I recently met some of the young people supported by the charity, and myself and the team at Momentum Ski are really keen to get involved.”
Snow-Camp Founder Dan Charlish said: “This partnership with Momentum Ski is a really exciting development for Snow-Camp. It is a fantastic opportunity for the charity and comes at a key time as we are expanding our programmes nationally. The City Ski Championships is a prestigious event in the snowsports calendar and to be named as charity partner is a real honour and will give Snow-Camp’s work an amazing platform. We have had such great support from city companies in the past and we are looking forward to playing a positive role in this year’s event.”
Momentum Ski have also set up a fundraising page, where supporters and attendees of the Championships can donate to support our work. Please find more information here.
