Watch Snow-Camp’s feature on BBC London

Snow-Camp featured on BBC London News during the build up to BBC Children in Need 2019.

The feature focuses on our youth volunteer Laquan. Click on the video below to watch or click on this link.

In March 2019, Snow-Camp was awarded a three year grant of £100,000 from BBC Children in Need. The funding will enable 150 young Londoners to take part in our programmes.

Clare Cannock, Regional Head of South at BBC Children in Need said:

“BBC Children in Need is committed to improving the lives of those children and young people who need it most by supporting projects like this which work locally to make real and lasting changes. We look forward to seeing this funding in action!”

Rachel Cruz, Snow-Camp’s Development Director said:

“We are thrilled to have been awarded a grant from BBC Children in Need. To have their support will make a huge difference to our organisation enabling us to support more young people in need while providing further awareness to our essential work.

The importance of our work has been highlighted in recent news. Working closely in inner-city areas in London it’s been heartbreaking to see so many people from the communities in which we work, coping with devastating tragedies relating to knife crime and youth violence. With BBC Children In Need’s support our hope is for Snow-Camp to continue providing young people from these communities with a positive alternative. We want to provide opportunities that enable our young people to look to the future with positive mindsets and aspire to achieve what they never thought was possible.”
