AJ Bell Alpine Challenge

24-27 January 2019 Morzine, Porters du Soleil, France

The AJ Bell Alpine Challenge is a unique 2 day charity snowsports endurance event designed to give your team a skiing and snowboarding experience you will never forget!

It’s the 10th Anniversary edition of the AJ Bell Alpine Challenge supporting Snow-Camp! And this year we are making bigger and better than ever before!

All about the AJ Bell Alpine Challenge 2019

The Alpine Challenge is a unique team skiing or snowboarding event, challenging your team of 4 riders to clock up over 150km of GPS tracked skiing over 2 action packed days in the massive Portes du Soleil ski area. With no guides allowed, your team will navigate to reach as many checkpoints as possible across each of the resorts, with the team collecting the most checkpoints and clocking up the most km’s over 2 days winning the AJ Bell Alpine Challenge 2019! It’s all about strategy, stamina, teamwork and good fun! If you want to see the full details of the event it’s all in the Event Overview here or watch the film below from last year’s event!

If you want to be part of the biggest and longest running charity ski challenge in the Alps, here are the three simple steps to getting involved!

Step 1

Find 3 fellow fun loving and adventurous snowsports enthusiasts to join your team and take on the Challenge! Once you have your team – register everyone below, it’s quick and easy and costs just £100 per team member to register!

Your registration fee covers your challenge entry, team bibs, GPS tracking, packed lunches, medals, entry to the BBQ and mulled wine party on Friday evening and entry to the awards ceremony on Saturday evening.

This year, by popular demand, we are hosting a Gala Dinner in the biggest ballroom in Morzine at Hotel Le Cret, on the Thursday (for dinner and event briefing) and the Saturday (for dinner and the awards ceremony). With a special price of just £35 per head, you can book your tickets to attend when you register your team.

You can also book your discounted 2-day ski passes in advance, if you need them, on the same registration form.

Good to go?

Please note: Just to be clear! The registration fee does not cover flights, transfers, accommodation, breakfast, dinner, lift passes and ski/snowboard hire.

Step 2

Book your flights! We have people coming from all across the UK to take part in the Challenge. Some come early and stay for the week, some extend to stay longer after the Challenge, some just come from Thursday to Sunday for the Challenge itself. With all these variables, it makes sense that everyone books their own flights and transfers to suit – and we will see everyone together for the first time at the event briefing at Hotel Le Cret, Morzine, on Thursday evening. You can see some recommended flights in the Event Overview.

Step 3

Book your accommodation! Some people want a self-catered apartment, others a 5* Hotel, still others a catered chalet for the week. Wherever you stay and for however long, if you need accommodation the easiest way might be to use the links below. Just put in your dates and get a range of accommodation options to suit your needs.

But for all other accommodation the official Morzine Avoriaz website is here: http://en.morzine-avoriaz.com/ or Morznet is here: https://www.morznet.com/accommodation/

Alternatively, you can contact the tourist office – details here: http://en.morzineavoriaz.com/contact-us/

The Snow-Camp team stay in the lovely 2* Hotel Aubergade, and we have some rooms reserved here for teams. If this suits you, please get in touch and we can make arrangements for you.

Additional registration details

Teams usually take part in teams of 4, but if you would like to have a bigger team please do get in touch and we can arrange this.

The Early Bird registration fee is £100 per person (£400 per team of 4) and is now extended until the 30th September 2018. After then the registration fee is £150 per person (£600 per team of 4).

Full details, the event schedule, rules in detail and much more can be found in the Event Overview here.

How does the fundraising work?

By taking part in the AJ Bell Alpine Challenge you will help support youth charity Snow-Camp’s growing work with inner city young people – providing them with opportunities to participate in our snowsports based youth training and vocational programmes and making a massive difference to their lives and future choices. We will set up a Team Fundraising page, which team members can easily send round to friends, family and colleagues letting them know what you are doing and telling them about the charity. All teams will cover the full costs for their participation in the Challenge upfront when they register, which means that all funds raised will go directly to the charity. Each team of 4 has a minimum fundraising target of £2,000 which will be managed through the page. Thank you in advance for your support!
