Snow-Camp are the UK's only charity using a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding and vocational opportunities to support and unite inner-city young people in London, Cardiff, Bristol, Scotland, the Midlands and the North West. Last year 864 young people transformed their lives through our support:
The importance of our work is regularly highlighted in the news. It has been heart breaking to see so many people from the communities in which we work coping with devastating tragedies relating to knife crime and youth violence.
With your support Snow-Camp can continue to provide young people from these communities with alternatives to the destructive lifestyles modelled by many of those around them. We want to provide opportunities that enable our young people to look to the future with positive mindsets and aspire to achieve what they never thought was possible. But we can’t do it without you.
I love the way Snow-Camp uses my sport to support young people who wouldn't ever get the chance to get involved in snowsports – and beyond that, to enable them to get qualifications and access to employment in the snowsports industry. I’m so honoured to be on board as a patron.Jenny Jones Sochi 2014 Olympic Bronze Medallist and Snow-Camp Patron
Snow-Camp is a fantastic charity helping those from deprived backgrounds do something positive. People say snowsports are for the elite, and rowing has that reputation too. Snow-Camp proves this is not necessarily the case.Sir Steve Redgrave 5x Olympic Gold Medallist and Snow-Camp Ambassador
75% of young people who come to Snow-Camp have no qualifications when they arrive. Young people can gain up to 5 new qualifications with Snow-Camp and once they complete our programmes they then volunteer on our programmes, at our events and industry shows. We also provide apprenticeships and work experience opportunities.
In communities that have low social integration, we offer young people an activity that enables them to create meaningful relationships. Everyone who joins Snow-Camp is a beginner. As they progress through our programmes their confidence, initiative, courage and skills develop collectively while supporting one another, building friendships and independently achieving away from the negative influences that surround them at home.
