Our programmes run from July-June each year. All young people must be aged 13-21 and must start at the beginning on First Tracks with no prior snowsports experience.
This programme offers young people the opportunity to further develop their snowsports skills over 6 weekends. Young people attend life-skills sessions focusing on vocational opportunities with presentations from industry representatives. Young people gain an ASDAN certificate in Sports and Fitness and they also continue through the Snowsport Scotland Snow Life Award system started on the First Tracks Programme.
The next programme will be running throughout October and November 2019.
When a young person reaches the Excel Programme they are motivated and ready to pursue a career in the snowsports industry. Over 10 weeks young people, aged 16-21, train to become qualified Snowsport Scotland Level 1 ski or snowboarding instructors. They also experience the mountains for the first time on our annual residential.
The next programme will be running throughout February, March and April 2020.
We provide 2 young people, aged 16-21, who have completed our First Tracks, Graduate and Excel Programmes, with full-time employment for 1 year with Snow-Camp Scotland. The Apprenticeship Programme incorporates work placements with snowsports industry partners alongside an SQL Level 2 in sports coaching and a BASI Level 1 snowsport instructor qualification.
The next Apprenticeship Programme will start in June 2019.
