At Snow Camp, we know how powerful snowsports can be in changing young lives. Now, through an exciting new partnership with Coach Core, a leading UK charity providing sports coaching Apprenticeships, we’ll help even more young people gain vital skills, qualifications and work experience. By combining Snow Camp’s unique snowsports journey with Coach Core’s Apprenticeship expertise, we’re creating pathways for underserved young people to thrive.
Coach Core Foundation is the award-winning education and employment charity that uses sport and apprenticeships to help underserved young people make long-term positive change in their lives. Through paid Apprenticeships in sports coaching, young people gain recognised qualifications, professional experience and a network of mentors and peers.
By partnering with Coach Core, we’re opening up new training pathways for Snow Camp graduates to gain qualifications in coaching, whether they then go on to work in snowsports or other sports sectors. This partnership will also ensure young people feel supported with structured learning, employment opportunities and personal development.
Paul Thompson, the Director of People and Learning at Coach Core, put it perfectly:
“We couldn’t be more aligned in our values, mission and purpose. Snow Camp and Coach Core both exist to support young people who might otherwise be overlooked – helping them build confidence, gain new skills and find real opportunities for their future.
What makes this partnership so special is that the young people stepping into these roles have grown through every stage of Snow Camp’s journey – from First Tracks, to Graduate, to Excel. They’ve experienced the power of snowsports to overcome challenges and build a sense of direction.
Now, through the Coach Core Apprenticeship, they’re taking the next step – becoming relatable role models who are helping to deliver the very same programmes that shaped them. Whether it’s mentoring others, leading life skills sessions or supporting new participants on the slopes, these Apprentices bring authenticity, empathy and lived experience to everything they do. This isn’t just about gaining qualifications – it’s about giving back and helping the next group of young people find their path too.”
The Snow Camp Apprenticeship programme was recently recognised as one of the very best in the UK for 2025 by RateMyApprenticeship.co.uk. Placing 15th out of the Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers and ranking as the highest-scoring charity on this prestigious list is a huge testament to our commitment to helping young people build brighter futures through snowsports, life skills, and employability training.
When young people join the Snow Camp Apprenticeship Programme, they step into one of the most unique and inspiring training offers in the country. Now powered by Coach Core – a multi-award-winning charity – the programme offers even more tailored support to help young people thrive.
Alongside their Level 2 coaching qualification, every Apprentice benefits from Coach Core’s enhanced support package, built specifically for those who’ve faced challenges, barriers, discrimination or a lack of opportunity. And with smaller caseloads, their Learning Coaches can provide consistent 1-to-1 mentoring, pastoral care and hands-on guidance throughout the journey, not just at the start.
Apprentices also access Coach Core’s industry masterclasses, national development weeks, additional coaching qualifications, branded kit, and opportunities to connect with employers and peers at events across the UK. It’s a model that supports the whole person, building confidence, skills and networks that last well beyond the programme.
By combining Snow Camp’s powerful on-slope experience with Coach Core’s proven track record of supporting underserved young people, this partnership prepares every Apprentice not just for a job but for a lasting, meaningful career in sport and physical activity.
Sport has the power to break down barriers and unite communities and at Snow Camp, we see that every day. Coach Core’s approach focuses on collaboration with local sports clubs, employers and community partners. This means that together, Snow Camp and Coach Core will ensure young people stay connected to local opportunities, making a real difference where they live.
Our young people will not only gain skills but also become role models for others in their communities, inspiring the next generation to dream big.

Employers and supporters have an incredible opportunity to invest in the next generation of sports coaches, snowsports professionals and future community leaders. By offering placements, training and mentorship, partners play a vital role in creating inclusive pathways into employment and further education.
The new partnership with Coach Core, alongside the launch of the Snow Camp Futures Programme, means even more trusted employers can get involved at every stage of a young person’s journey. Whether we’re helping someone take their first steps into the workplace through Futures or supporting them through a nationally recognised Apprenticeship, we’re investing in a robust, proven training pathway that delivers real social impact.

If you’re a potential employer, donor or supporter, there are more ways than ever to help make this partnership and the new Futures Programme a success:
Every bit of support helps break down barriers, bridge skills gaps and create brighter futures for young people from underserved communities.
None of this would be possible without the generous support of partners, donors and volunteers like you. By standing with Snow Camp and Coach Core, you’re helping break down barriers, build futures and transform young lives through the power of sport.
