Snow Camp Futures

Snow Camp Futures is an exciting new programme designed for young people aged 16+ who have successfully completed the Snow Camp journey. They are already fully engaged with our youth programmes, and this initiative serves as the next step in their development, providing a structured and supportive pathway into further training and employment.

Through a comprehensive Ready-to-Work training programme, Snow Camp Futures will equip young people with essential skills, qualifications, and hands-on experience to confidently transition into the workplace, embrace opportunities, and thrive in their chosen career paths.

We will continue to engage and inspire young people through snowsports, whilst exposing them to the wider world of work. By connecting them with our trusted partners in the snowsports industry, including tourism, hospitality, ski and snowboard instruction, retail, and corporate partnerships, we provide valuable opportunities for vocational training, work experience, and career development in these exciting fields.

Carving brighter futures for young people across the UK

Snow Camp Futures is more than just a training programme; it’s a game-changing opportunity for young people to gain the skills, confidence, and experience needed to build a successful future. By providing practical support, exposure to career pathways, and long-term career guidance, the programme will support young people to break down barriers, access new opportunities, and take the next step toward meaningful employment. With the right training and support, every young person has the potential to thrive, and Snow Camp Futures will help make that happen.

Key elements of the programme will include:

  • Financial Independence – assisting young people to gain essential identification documents, opening a bank account, navigating key financial aspects, and managing money.
  • Job Readiness – incorporating CV writing, interview techniques, workplace skills, and teamwork alongside job placement assistance and networking opportunities.
  • Vocational Training – offering short courses, work placements, and volunteering opportunities tailored to individual career interests across various sectors, made possible through partnerships with trusted organisations from the snowsports industry and beyond.
  • Qualifications – providing opportunities to gain valuable accreditations and UCAS credits, such as the Sports Leaders qualifications, Chalet Hosting Courses, BASI (British Association of Snowsports Instructors) Level 1 & Level 2 Alpine Ski, Snowboard & Adaptive Instructor qualifications, and Level 2 and 3 apprenticeships to enhance employability and build a strong CV.
  • Wellbeing Support – through continued access to Snow Camp’s Wellbeing-Managers, 1:1 counselling, peer support networks, and workshops on stress management and motivation.

Why We Need Snow Camp Futures

For many young people, the end of the Snow Camp journey can feel like standing at the edge of a new slope. Full of potential, but also uncertainty. When the final residential trips and courses finish, some are left asking: “What’s next?”

A young man gestures while speaking in front of a group of diverse young people seated in a classroom, holding papers and listening attentively as part of Futures programme workshops.

One Snow Camp young person put it perfectly:

“The full Snow Camp Journey is the best thing I have ever done, I loved it, but at the end of the course I remember thinking ‘it’s all over’. With Futures, it is not all over, and that helps me to continue to feel confident and supported by Snow Camp, which is really exciting for me.”

Too often, young people from under-represented communities feel the weight of uncertainty more than most. One participant shared:

“It is scary being a young person and not knowing what to do. There is always so much pressure to know what you want to do with your life. I think Snow Camp already help by giving us a space to develop and follow non – linear pathways and to set goals to help us reach certain points, but with Futures I feel like the opportunity to have more support in such a scary time is gold dust.”

Without structured next steps, it’s easy for young people to slip through the cracks. Something we at Snow Camp refuse to accept. As one young person said:

“I think it is easy for young people to fall through the gaps. With the Snow Camp Futures programme it feels like the fear of falling through the gaps is taken away.”

Snow Camp Futures exists to close this gap. We’re here to ensure that when a young person completes our core programmes, they’re not left wondering what now? Instead, they’re stepping into real opportunities, supported by trusted mentors, wellbeing managers, and our partners across the snowsports industry and beyond.

Together, we can make sure no young person feels left behind. Futures is not the end of the journey. It’s the next chapter.

And our Head of Snow Camp Futures, Morv Bett, shares exactly what that next chapter means…

A Message from Morv Bett: Why This Matters

Our Futures Programme is a natural next step for the young people we support. As Morv Bett, our Head of Snowsports and Futures, says:

“The Futures Programme is an exciting next step designed to build on everything young people have already gained through our existing programmes. It’s all about bridging the gap between completing Snow Camp’s core programme and stepping confidently into whatever the future holds, whether that’s within the snowsports industry or beyond.”

At Snow Camp, we know that finishing the main programme shouldn’t feel like the finish line. Instead, it’s the launch pad. Morv’s vision for Futures is to open up fresh opportunities for young people to develop the skills, self-belief, and clarity they need to take ownership of their next steps.

“Whether they’re pursuing a career in snowsports or exploring a different path, Futures is here to support and inspire them on their journey. We can’t wait to see how far it can take them.”

Morv has seen firsthand the transformation that happens when young people feel supported and trusted to take charge of their future. With Futures, that transformation doesn’t stop; it grows.
