Introducing Our 2025/26 Apprentices: From the Slopes to the Start of Something Life-Changing

Welcoming the next generation of snowsports leaders

At Snow Camp, we believe in the power of snowsports to change lives. Since day one, our mission has been to provide young people from underserved communities with the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive through skiing and snowboarding – and beyond.

This month, we’re incredibly proud to introduce our brand-new cohort of 2025/26 Snow Camp apprentices. 16 inspiring young people from across the UK who have shown extraordinary commitment, resilience and ambition throughout their Snow Camp journeys. From that very first time on the slopes with First Tracks, all the way through Graduate and Excel, these young people have embraced every challenge and every opportunity. Now, as apprentices, they are role models for the next wave of young people entering the Snow Camp programmes.

We know many of our supporters, partners and volunteers will be just as excited as we are to meet them – so read on to learn more about who they are, where they come from, and what lies ahead.

The journey to apprenticeship: from First Tracks to the future

Each of our apprentices has travelled a unique path through Snow Camp’s full programme journey – and it all began with a simple introduction to snowsports. Through our First Tracks programme, young people experienced skiing or snowboarding for the very first time. For many, this was also their first time outside of their home city or comfort zone.

From there, they progressed to Graduate, building skills, teamwork and confidence. Then came Excel, where they developed industry-standard BASI qualifications and more.

And now, as part of our award-winning Apprenticeship Programme, these young people are stepping into the snowsports industry as professionals in training – supporting the delivery of sessions, mentoring younger participants, and developing life and employability skills.

We’re also excited to support our apprentices with opportunities through our new Futures Programme, which offers even more pathways into education, employment and training beyond snowsports.

Meet the 2025/26 Snow Camp apprentices

Here they are – our incredible new apprentices from four regions across the UK:

Scotland 2025 Apprentices

Our Scotland Programme Manager, Laura said:

“In the short time since this year’s 4 apprentices have started, they have already impressed me so much with their enthusiasm and support running First Tracks. I can’t wait to see what they can achieve in the year ahead!”

Midlands 2025 Apprentices

Our Midlands Programme Manager, Aimee said:

“It has been amazing to watch the progress of my Apprentices over the past 6 weeks, they have gone from strength to strength in so many different situations, from delivery, engaging with young people and sharing their Snow Camp journeys in front of so many people!

I am super proud of how far they have already come, watching them excel and finding their interests within the Snow sports sector while watching what gets them excited.

Bring on the next few months and watch them grow!”

London 2025 Apprentices

Our London Programme Manager, Angus said:

“This year’s 3 Snow Camp London apprentices have got off to an absolute flyer!

It has been a pleasure to welcome them to the team and see how they have grown over such a short period with us. I’m so proud of how they have taken it in their stride over the Summer First Tracks programme, providing support and encouragement to all the Young People taking part in snowsports for the first time. Exciting times ahead for them all with work placements and Winter events coming up soon!”

North West 2025 Apprentices

Darren, our North West Programme Manager said:

“This summer, our four young apprentices have stepped up brilliantly to deliver Snow Camp’s First Tracks programme. Across 10 intensive two-day courses, they’ve welcomed and supported over 300 young people! No small feat for a team who at this time last year were all participants on First Tracks themselves!

Each apprentice has shown remarkable personal growth. They’ve conducted themselves with professionalism beyond their years, while staying approachable and relatable to every young person on the slope and in the classroom. Their confidence has grown with every session, and their belief in their own ability to lead and inspire has been clear to see.

From handling busy schedules to ensuring every participant felt included and supported, they’ve balanced responsibility with warmth. Youth workers and participants have praised their calm presence, positive energy, and willingness to step in wherever needed.

It’s been a summer not just of delivering courses, but of shaping leaders! Four apprentices proving that with hard work, self-belief, and the right opportunities, they can make a lasting impact.”

Why the Apprenticeship Programme matters

At Snow Camp, we don’t believe in short-term fixes. Our year-long Apprenticeship Programme is designed to provide sustained, meaningful support to each young person. They are paid employees, trained professionals, and developing mentors.

Apprentices gain:

  • Industry-recognised qualifications
  • Paid experience in youth work and snowsports
  • Mental health and first aid training
  • CV and interview support
  • A supportive team and national network

We also offer wrap-around support through our Futures Programme, which helps apprentices explore additional career pathways and education options in and beyond sport.

Real stories, real impact

We’ll be sharing more about each apprentice throughout the year, with blog posts, social media takeovers, and stories from the slopes. If you haven’t already, take a moment to read about some of our past participants on our social media.

You can also explore how Snow Camp makes a difference on our Impact page, where you’ll find stats, stories and outcomes from across the country.

How you can support this journey

This apprenticeship year is only possible thanks to the generosity of our funders, partners and supporters. If you’d like to be part of their journey, here’s how you can help:

And most importantly – follow us and share their stories. These apprentices are tomorrow’s instructors, youth workers, and change-makers. Help us shout about their success.

Thank you

To every supporter who’s helped get these young people to this point – thank you. Your kindness and commitment are shaping brighter futures through snowsports every single day.

To the apprentices – welcome to your next chapter. We are so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve.
