Levelling up our Apprentices with Inghams Lapland & Workaseason

Inghams Lapland & Workaseason – Proudly working with Snow Camp to take our Apprentices’ employability skills to new heights this year!

Building on the success of the past 3 years in Val d’Isere (take a look!), the incredible folks over at Inghams and Workaseason have taken their support for Snow Camp to new heights once again, with a life-changing employability-focused experience week in Lapland for this years Snow Camp Apprentices.

As per the past 3 years in the French Alps, the week had one goal: To expand their career aspirations, build confidence and equip our Apprentices with practical employability skills to enter the snowsports industry with vigour on completion of their Snow Camp apprenticeship this summer.

From CV workshops and industry insight sessions, to informal career chats with resort staff and the operations team, every part of the week focused on preparing them for the world of work; with a particular emphasis on seasonal and overseas employment in the snowsports industry.

Proving themselves face-to-face with industry professionals

One of the most powerful aspects of the trip was the opportunity for our Apprentices to engage directly with staff across the Inghams and Workaseason teams. From Destination Experts and Resort Managers to Excursion Coordinators, the Apprentices gained first-hand insight into what it takes to work in the winter sports industry.

These informal but impactful conversations allowed our young adults to ask real-world questions, explore potential career paths, and see for themselves that there is space for them in these environments. For many, it was their first time interacting with professionals in roles they could genuinely see themselves stepping into.

The connection between young people and industry experts is something we champion throughout our programmes. You can read more about how we build these bridges year-round on our careers and apprenticeships page.

Translating Snow Camp experiences into customer service and more

Every Apprentice on this inaugural Lapland trip (for Snow Camp at least) has already achieved an incredible amount through Snow Camp. From completing their journey as beginner skiers & snowboarders on our First Tracks programme, to gaining employment on our award-winning Apprentice programme, these young adults are now actively inspiring the next generation and co-delivering Snow Camp programmes and events across the UK. Their lived experiences are full of skills that employers value.

But without the right tools,  or without knowing where to start, it can be difficult to communicate that. That’s why the Workaseason team delivered immersive CV workshops throughout the week; helping every Apprentice reflect on their journey and translate their experiences into a professional language that speaks to recruiters across the snowsports industry.

Working alongside staff from Workaseason and our Snow Camp Programme Managers, the Apprentices identified core transferable skills – from communication and adaptability to resilience and leadership – and learned how to frame these in applications, cover letters and interviews.

Preparing for employment in the snowsports industry and beyond

A key focus of the week was supporting our Apprentices to prepare for employment – both within the snowsports industry and across a wide range of sectors.

A big focus was identifying transferable skills and understanding how these apply across roles and industries. The skills our Apprentices have learnt through their time at Snow Camp – such as teamwork, punctuality and leadership – can help them succeed in many different areas of work, from hospitality to logistics and beyond.

One of the most impactful moments came when the Inghams team provided personalised, individual feedback to each young person. This guidance included constructive advice, strengths-based reflections, and encouragement on the next steps to take in their personal and professional development.

This kind of direct, supportive feedback loop is a vital step in the Snow Camp apprenticeship journey, and one that helps young people leave our programmes with clarity, confidence and ambition for the future.

Unforgettable experiences that build confidence and resilience

Alongside the structured workshops and staff meetings, the Apprentices made the most of their downtime by creating memories they’ll never forget – each helping to build soft skills like trust, perseverance, and team dynamics. These included:

  • Husky dog sledding, where teamwork and communication were essential
  • Ice go-karting – a hotly contested and highly competitive challenge!
  • Seeing the Northern Lights together – a moment of reflection and shared awe

These experiences were more than fun; they were powerful reminders of what’s possible when young people are given space to explore, connect, and grow.

A catalyst for future employment and education

Following the experience, several participants have already begun applying for seasonal roles with renewed confidence. Others are exploring qualifications in hospitality or tourism, and many are continuing to complete their BASI instructor training.

This is the kind of long-term, tangible impact that is possible with your support and the support of our partners. Together, we are showing young people that there is a future worth striving for – and that they have the tools to reach it.

A heartfelt thank you to Inghams and Workaseason
