Our Top 20 ranking in the only government-backed ranking led by Higherin means we are one of the highest-placed small to medium-sized employers across the country, and the highest-ranking charity!

These rankings are calculated on several factors, including:
Snow Camp’s innovative approach to Apprenticeships – combining snowsports, hands-on experience, programme delivery and nationally-recognised qualifications – helps young people develop crucial leadership and communication skills, whilst building their confidence and aspirations both on and off the slopes.
Apprentices come through the programme journey that they then help deliver, a full-circle moment that means just as much to them as it does to the other young people they support.

This award wasn’t the only one we’ve received in the past year.
In March, Snow Camp attended the 2026 Coach Core Awards to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships and their employers across the UK.
Winning the Breakthrough Employer of the Year Award as a reflection of our work in our first year with Coach Core, we were delighted to celebrate our shared passion for using the power of sport (and snowsports in particular) to change young lives for the better.

Coach Core highlighted Snow Camp’s unique approach to allow former programme participants to return as Apprentices and deliver the very sessions they once benefited from themselves.
“From the outset, Snow Camp has provided comprehensive support for apprentices through structured onboarding, team integration days and access to specialist qualifications, including ski and snowboard instructor certifications. Snow Camp’s mission (working with underrepresented and at-risk young people) naturally aligns with Coach Core’s focus on social mobility and inclusion.”
“Since launching the Apprenticeship Programme in 2013, I’ve seen first-hand how impactful apprenticeships can be for the young people we work with nationally. Our apprentices don’t just deliver sessions; they inspire and raise the aspirations of those around them. When young people see someone from their own neighbourhood leading the way, they see what’s possible for themselves too.
We’re so proud to be recognised with this award for a second year running given the tireless work that goes on behind the scenes by all the Snow Camp team. A massive thank you to our Programme and Wellbeing Managers for getting the young people work-ready and helping them make the most of the opportunities presented to them, and to our 3 fantastic delivery partners Coach Core, Lifetime Training and SDC Learn who have all helped us create this long-lasting impact and meaningful careers for Snow Camp young people nationally.”

To be eligible for the Top Apprenticeship Employers 2026 ranking, our current Apprentices needed to complete a review about their time on our programme. What better way to demonstrate the impact of the programme than by passing over to them? Below is a selection of answers from some of the reviews on our Higherin profile. You can view all of them here.
“I really enjoy the programme, especially being on the slope and helping others improve and gain confidence. It’s rewarding and the people make it a good environment to be in. Some of the more structured parts can be challenging, but overall, it’s a really positive experience.”
“I’ve developed my coaching and communication skills a lot, especially explaining things clearly and working with different ability levels. I’m more confident leading and speaking to groups now, and I’ve improved my patience, teamwork, and ability to adapt to different people. It’s also helped me become more responsible when it comes to safety and supporting others.”
“Never be shy and always push yourself. Don’t let other things drag you down and show everyone the confidence you’ve achieved.”

We’re incredibly grateful to all our training providers and workplace partners who have helped us achieve this recognition for a second year! All of you play such a vital role in the development of our Apprenticeship Programme across the UK.
With the support of Coach Core, 12 new Apprentices have recently joined Snow Camp for their year of development, opportunity and life-changing impact as part of our team.
We continue building on our long-term partnership with SDC-LEARN to provide expert support and a tailor-made delivery model for our Apprentices in Scotland, whose salaries are fully funded by the National Lottery Young Start Fund for a third year.
We’re also grateful to the team at Lifetime Training who ensure our Apprentices embark on their NVQ qualifications with the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed.
Thank you all and we can’t wait to introduce you to our new cohort of Apprentices for 26/27 very soon!
