Over £57,000 raised at the 2024 Inter-Livery Ski Championships

On the 24th – 27th January 2024, team Snow Camp were back in Morzine for the annual Inter-Livery Ski Championships (ILSC), where we were delighted to once again be the official charity partner for this fantastic event.

Snow Camp were delivering a Team Triathlon on the opening day of the Championships, and despite a few nerves about the snow conditions in the lead up, we were treated to fantastic weather conditions for our event; an incredible 116 participants took part, 29 teams of 4 in total – made up of Livery Company skiers, guests and sponsors. There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day as teams took on the Giant Slalom, followed by a Biathlon, followed by a Snow Shoe Hike, scoring points for their times in each element.

Many congratulations to the Haberdashers Mountain Goats for their overall victory and the Goldsmiths for coming top in the fundraising challenge, closely followed by the Mercers, Leathersellers and Haberdashers.

Our team in resort included 2 of our fantastic apprentices Milana and Bobby from our Snow Camp Scotland programme who worked hard to deliver the Snow Shoe element of the Triathlon. They also spoke movingly on stage to over 270 people during the evening functions – sharing the impact of Snow Camp on their lives and their peers, and bringing the charity to life for everyone there.

We were also delighted to host our Après Drinks at Hotel Le Tremplin in the heart of Morzine where we were joined by the owners James and Roisin Timpson who spoke highly about Snow Camp’s work and the importance of supporting those less fortunate. Thank you both.

It was a wonderful few days for the charity, and in total – after all the fundraising pages and pledges of support during the evening – over £57,000 was raised for Snow Camp, an amazing achievement that will go towards supporting over 50 young people on our Snow Camp residential programmes!

We would like to extend our huge thanks organisers Emma Halford-MacLeod and Marc Begg for their warm welcome and fantastic support, and to all the Livery companies who collectively pulled together to make this such a success for our charity.

Emma Halford-MacLeod said:It is a joy and privilege for the Inter-Livery Ski Championships to partner with Snow Camp and raise funds to help more young people. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Milana and Bobby in Morzine last week, who were both so brave telling their stories in front of 270 strangers. Two very inspirational young people who are both capable of great things.”

Dan Charlish, Founder & Director of Snow Camp, said: “We couldn’t be more grateful for the support of everyone who attended this year’s Inter-Livery Ski Championships, and of course to everyone who took on our triathlon with such passion and enthusiasm. We always have such a wonderful experience being part of this fantastic event. Livery companies are so supportive of our work and are equally competitive about fundraising – a perfect combination! Huge thanks to Emma and Marc for all the organising and support. We are looking forward to ILSC 2025 already.”

Congratulations once again to everyone involved and see you next year!
