Snow Camp 25/26: Celebrating another year of opportunity and positive change

As Snow Camp celebrates another successful year of programme delivery, we want to take a moment to say thank you!

Thank you for helping us to build on 22 years of impact by creating many more positive opportunities for young people through snowsports, life skills, qualifications, vocational opportunities and mental-wellbeing support.

From July 2025 to June 2026, more than 1,100 young people took part in Snow Camp programmes across the UK, accessing opportunities designed to build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop leadership skills and create pathways into employment and further progression — and none of this would have been possible without the people and partners who believe in what we do.

At a time when many young people continue to face challenges around mental health, rising living costs and access to positive opportunities, your support helps Snow Camp remain committed to ensuring every young person can access a supportive community, positive role models and experiences that help them realise their potential.

Another Year of Impact

Snow Camp’s award-winning programme pathways combine skiing and snowboarding with accredited training, wellbeing support, employability opportunities and personal development, helping young people gain skills that extend far beyond the slopes.

Over the past 12 months, thanks to your support, more than 1,000 young people have gained access to these pathways, be that on just the first stage in the summer or completing our full year-long programme journey.

Whether taking their first turns on snow on our First Tracks programme last summer or experiening the mountains for the first time on our advanced Excel programme in Andorra – gaining recognised qualifications, building employability skills and stepping into leadership and volunteering positions – young people have continued to inspire us throughout, and we know they would not have had these opportunities without your ongoing support.

Supporting Wellbeing and Building Confidence

Young people’s wellbeing remains at the heart of everything Snow Camp does — and your support directly helps make this possible.

During 2025/26, 1,007 young people received dedicated wellbeing support through workshops, one-to-one guidance and targeted interventions delivered by Snow Camp’s wellbeing team.

By embedding wellbeing throughout every stage of the journey, we are able to create safe spaces where young people can build resilience, strengthen social connections and develop confidence in themselves and their futures.

Our Fourth Year in Andorra

One of the standout highlights of the year was the continued success of Snow Camp’s annual residential trip to Andorra as part of our 10-week advanced Excel Programme.

Now in its fourth year, the Andorra residential – delivered in partnership with True North Travel – has become a flagship moment in the Snow Camp journey; it exists because of the support that makes these life-changing experiences possible.

The experience offers young people from London, the Midlands, the North West and Scotland a unique opportunity to develop their snowports and employability skills in a real mountain environment. On the residential, they can apply everything they have learned throughout their Snow Camp journey, while gaining valuable life skills, independence and confidence to pursue whatever pathway they wish on completion.

Strengthening the BASI Partnership

This year also marked another significant step forward in Snow Camp’s growing partnership with BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors).

Almost 100 young people gained a BASI Alpine Instructor Foundation Award, helping them gain recognised industry credentials and opening doors to further opportunities within snowsports.

BASI trainers continued to play an integral role in the residential and Excel Programme as a whole, supporting young people as they developed their snowsports and instructing skills both in the UK and the snow-capped peaks of Andorra.

The strength of the partnership was further reflected by the BASI logo featuring on Snow Camp jackets throughout the year, symbolising a shared commitment to supporting young people to progress, achieve qualifications and explore future careers within the snowsports industry and beyond.

Creating Pathways into Employment

Snow Camp’s Apprenticeship Programme continues to provide meaningful pathways into employment and long-term careers — and it is growing because of the belief and support of our wider community.

The programme continues to grow through Snow Camp’s partnership with Coach Core, with 2025/26 marking the transition into the second year of this successful collaboration.

In fact, Snow Camp was once again named a top SME Apprenticeship Employer in the UK and was awarded ‘Breakthrough Employer of the Year’ at the 2026 Coach Core Foundation Awards – testament to all the Snow Camp programme & wellbeing team and everyone involved!

Demand for the Snow Camp Apprenticeship Programme also remains exceptionally strong, with 54 interviews conducted during recruitment for our new intake joining the Snow Camp team this summer, highlighting just how much interest and belief there is in what this programme offers.

Giving Young People a Voice

This year, 75 young people participated in Snow Camp’s Youth Forum; volunteering, contributing ideas, influencing programme development and helping shape the future direction of the charity.

As qualified youth instructors who help to support and shape our programmes, our Youth Forum members ensure our programmes meet the needs of the young people we support whilst inspiring the next cohort coming through behind them.

By placing young people at the centre of decision-making, Snow Camp continues to champion meaningful youth participation and leadership — and we are proud to see their voices helping guide our journey.

The Power of Partnership

The success of Snow Camp’s programmes is only possible because of the support of a wide range of partners who help create real progression and insight opportunities for young people.

This year, organisations including Salomon, Ellis Brigham, Snow+Rock, Ski Exchange, Heidi, Inghams, Ski Club of Great Britain, The Snow Centre, Ackers Adventure, The SnowDome, Bearsden Ski & Snowboard Centre, Glasgow Ski & Snowboard Centre and many more provided valuable placement opportunities for apprentices, helping them gain practical experience and develop the skills needed for future careers within the snowsports and outdoor industries.

These partnerships – along with so many other funders, trusts, grants, foundations and individuals who bring so much value to Snow Camp year on year – play a vital role in helping young people transition from participation into employment and professional development pathways, and we are deeply grateful to every single one of you who’ve supported Snow Camp over the past 12 months.

Could your organisation offer a placement or insight opportunity and help shape the next generation of snowsports professionals? We would love to hear from you.

Looking Ahead

As Snow Camp prepares for another year of delivery, we remain focused on reaching more young people, strengthening wellbeing support, expanding progression opportunities and building even stronger partnerships across the sector.

The numbers from the past 12 months tell an important story: 1,100 young people supported, 1,007 receiving wellbeing support, 75 Youth Forum members, 15 Apprentices and almost 100 young people achieving BASI qualifications.

But the real impact — the part that stays with us — goes far beyond statistics.

It can be found in the young person who feels confident for the first time, the participant who gains a recognised qualification, the Apprentice who secures their first paid role, and the future snowsports professional taking their next step towards a career in the industry.

As we enter our 23rd year of programme delivery this summer, we continue to grow our impact, strengthen our partnerships and create even more opportunities for young people from underserved backgrounds and communities to thrive.

Another year of programmes. Another year of progression. Another year of turning young lives around with the power of snowsports.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
