Donate via Snow CampWe’re incredibly proud that Snow Camp has been selected for a prestigious BBC Radio 4 Appeal, a long-running series that shines a spotlight on the life-changing work of charities across the UK.
Presented by our amazing Patron, four-time Winter Olympian Chemmy Alcott, this short broadcast shares the powerful story of two young people whose lives were transformed through Snow Camp’s unique mix of snowsports, life skills, mentoring and mental health support.
This is a huge moment for our charity. It’s a chance to share our mission with new audiences across the country, and to invite more people to support young people facing serious challenges.
At Snow Camp, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive. But for many facing poverty, violence or mental health challenges, opportunities like skiing can feel a million miles away.
That’s where we come in.
As featured in the BBC Radio 4 Appeal, our programmes combine snowsports with life skills, mental health support and mentoring. All aimed at helping young people find focus, confidence and community.
You’ll hear Chemmy Alcott, tell the story of how snowsports changed her life – and how it’s changing lives for young people too.
Marcus, whose name has been changed to protect his identity, was one of those young people. From early trauma to gang involvement, his path was filled with obstacles. But with support from Snow Camp, everything changed.
He found not just a sport, but a community and future.
Today, Marcus is fully employed in the snowsports industry and is a mentor to other Snow Camp young people walking the same road he once did.
Young people like Connor.
When Connor was referred to Snow Camp, he was facing extreme instability and had lost hope for the future. But being paired with Marcus as a mentor gave him something powerful. Someone who understood, and who believed in him.
Today, Connor is thriving as a Snow Camp apprentice, working towards qualifications and supporting others who are facing challenges like his own.
You’ll hear more of their stories in the BBC Radio 4 Appeal and discover the role your support can play in changing the story for young people across the UK.
But Marcus and Connor are just two of the hundreds of young people Snow Camp helps each year.
And there are thousands more out there who need your support.

Thanks to your generosity, since 2003, Snow Camp has already supported over 20,000 young people across the UK. But thousands more still need our help.
This BBC appeal is a chance to reach them.
